Promoting Resilience

Self-esteem and resilience are important skills for children as they can help  them navigate challenges and bounce back from adversity.

Parents are usually the first people children trust. If parents adopt accepting and emotionally warm parenting styles, it will help to build a strong relationship with their children, and help build their resilience.

Other social bonds that children make are also important. Fostering positive relationships with peers can help children to have good friends and reduce experiences of bullying. Together, this can help children to build confidence and resilience.
